Picking out Notes
"Picking out notes" is something neccessary for playing music by ear. With lots of practice you will be able to master this skill. The goal is to match the pitch of what you hear in a song to what you hear on a piano. (Or other melodic instruments such as a guitar, trombone, sax, flute, or bass) The process is a pretty straight forward concept, however the execution will take lots of practice. You simply press the keys on the piano until it matches the pitch of the music you are hearing. The key is to listen to whether a note sounds low or high.
