Every Pianist will inevitably reach a block in their music journey. That block may come in the form of reaching a plateau and failing to improve. On the other hand, it could come in the form of you failing to execute a blues lick just right despite hours and hours of practice. Regardless of what kind of block you’re experiencing, it can be very frustrating.
Naturally, musicians tend to think that the only way to improve is to practice more. This is certainly a valid method of getting from “Point A” to “Point B.” However, sometimes practicing more just doesn’t work. Consider taking a break. Take a day off from the piano or simply work on something else. You will be surprised by the results when you give your brain and fingers a break.
